Ciudad de México.- El reconocido cineasta mexicano, Guillermo del Toro, ha vuelto a posicionarse en la élite del cine internacional con Frankenstein, una adaptación largamente esperada que lo coloca nuevamente en la contienda por los Premios de la Academia.
En la edición 98 de los Premios Óscar, la cinta consiguió un total de nueve nominaciones, incluida la de Mejor Película, una de las categorías más competitivas de la ceremonia, así como también Mejor Guion Adaptado y Mejor Actor de Reparto, para su protagonista Jacob Elordi, Mejor Fotografía, Maquillaje, Banda Sonora, Vestuario, Producción de Diseño y Sonido.
Cabe destacar que estas nominaciones se suman a las que tuvo en el inicio de la temporada de premios en los Globos de Oro, destacando en las categorías de Mejor Película Dramática, Mejor Director y Mejor Actor Drama y de Reparto para sus estrellas, Isaac y Elordi.

Aunque el cineasta tapatío no fue incluido en la categoría de Mejor Director, la película competirá por la estatuilla más codiciada de la gala.
¿Cuándo serán los Premios Oscar 2026?
La ceremonia se llevará a cabo el 15 de marzo de 2026 en el Dolby Theatre de Hollywood, Los Ángeles, California, y será transmitida en vivo en Estados Unidos por el canal ABC.
Durante el evento se entregarán los Premios de la Academia, conocidos popularmente como los Óscar, en 24 categorías. Será producida por Raj Kapoor y Katy Mullan. El comediante Conan O’Brien regresará como anfitrión de la ceremonia por segundo año consecutivo.
